Fiberland srls is an Italian provider of high-quality wireless internet services (WISP). The company has been supporting major sports and entertainment events with stable network connectivity for years, including the Formula 1 Grand Prix in Italy and the 2026 Winter Olympics in Cortina.
At these events, all systems—especially POS terminals and shop infrastructure—must function reliably, even with large crowds. Together with Teltonika routers, WhereverSIM provides the right SIM-based connectivity for secure, stable, and scalable operation.

Sports events such as the Formula 1 Grand Prix attract huge crowds. More than 360,000 fans attended each of the races in Italy in 2025. "The pressure on existing network infrastructures is extreme with such large crowds. Even well-equipped event venues are quickly overwhelmed by thousands of simultaneously active smartphones," explains Joe Pellizzer, CEO of Fiberland. "To ensure that payments can be made in the shops on the grounds without any failures, we need an alternative solution." A wired infrastructure is not feasible for large events due to the distribution across the entire site. Instead, the entire event configuration requires a separate and stable mobile communications solution. "We have found exactly this stable connection with WhereverSIM," adds Pellizzer.

In addition to WhereverSIM's M2M SIM cards, Fiberland relies on Teltonika routers for its events. The compact, coordinated setup ensures maximum stability even under extreme network load. The Teltonika RUTX12 also offers an integrated backup solution via its dual SIM function in case a network infrastructure unexpectedly fails. This allows it to switch to the best available network at any time. The key to this is WhereverSIM's uncontrolled M2M SIM cards. They always enable connection to the strongest local network without prioritizing individual mobile providers. This creates a highly available and equally flexible infrastructure that can be easily adapted to changing event locations. "This is crucial for POS systems: every transaction must go through in seconds. Thanks to multi-network, failover, and high bandwidth, we were able to build a high-performance network that works regardless of visitor traffic," says Pellizzer.

In addition to the race track, Fiberland will also be using WhereverSIM's multi-network SIM at the 2026 Winter Olympics in Cortina. The conditions are largely similar to those in Formula 1:
Pellizzer explains: "One of the key factors in our decision to choose WhereverSIM was how easy it is to use the SIM. Once the SIM is inserted into the router, we don't have to manually switch networks or constantly keep an eye on it. The router can automatically connect to the strongest network in the area." It is precisely this simplicity and reliability that Fiberland needs for large events.
The collaboration between Fiberland, Teltonika, and WhereverSIM has resulted in a solution that is ideal for all types of large-scale events, from motorsports and festivals to international sporting competitions such as the Olympics.
