Trusted by 800+ companies worldwide wherever SIM
5G is on the rise and will change our everyday lives worldwide. For the Internet of Things (IoT), this further development of the network infrastructure will have a significant impact. Because: Machine-to-machine communication (M2M) needs absolutely reliable connections. We already offer these to our customers and partners with our M2M SIM cards - now also with the first 5G networks in our M2M data tariffs.
Larger network capacities
Networkuse by more participants without the risk of network congestion.
Short latency
Nearly delay-free transmission of data for real-time interactions.
Higher bandwidth
For even faster sending and receiving of mobile data.
Network slicing
Division of the 5G network into virtualised parts with specific properties, suitable for the respective use cases.
New usage scenarios
Virtual / augmented reality, autonomous driving, telemedicine, smart farming, intelligent energy supply and many more.
Lower energy consumption
Resource conservation & lower maintenance intervals e.g. for hard-to-reach devices.
Network operators around the world have rolled out their 5G infrastructure. However, it will still take some time before 5G technology is available across the board. We can currently offer you 5G in the following countries and regions via our roaming contracts:
More than 600 companies of all sizes and industries rely on wherever SIM to connect their devices even in difficult locations in more than 100 countries.
Frequently asked questions about our M2M SIM card and 5G
No, not necessarily. Almost all IoT projects can also be realised on the basis of the existing network infrastructure, for example 4G. The advantage over 5G is that the networks and infrastructure are already in place and well developed. It will still take some time before 5G is available nationwide. In Germany, for example, the network operators are only now slowly starting to roll out 5G. However, there are differences between the networks that have to be weighed up for each project on a case-by-case basis.
There is no general answer to this question, as each network operator decides for itself on the time frame for expansion. For Germany, the network operators Telekom, Vodafone and o2 have announced that they want to have a nationwide 5G network by 2025.
If you already use M2M SIM cards from wherever SIM : Basically no. All our SIM cards are technically capable of using 5G. However, we can currently only offer 5G for SIM cards whose ICCID begins with 8946. Other SIM cards from wherever SIM are not yet able to connect to 5G networks. This is due to outstanding roaming agreements with network operators. As soon as the negotiations are concluded, 5G will also be available for other SIMs. If you use M2M SIMs from another provider, we are unfortunately unable to provide any information on this.
