C.D. Büttner Sicherheitstechnik GmbH has been one of the best-known security companies in Germany for more than 30 years. "Our work is not just about installing an alarm system. We are also responsible for maintaining a stable and secure connection to these complex systems in order to be informed immediately of incidents in the event of an emergency. "Unfortunately, that wasn't always easy," explains Büttner. "In new buildings made of reinforced concrete, for example, reception can be limited. Especially if you only use SIM cards from one mobile phone provider, as we did before we discovered wherever SIM .
If this one large provider had no network in one place, it became complicated and stressful for us. In that case, we could only ensure the connection for our systems via newly laid cables and additionally installed antennas. That was a costly additional expense." An expense that is now a thing of the past.
With the M2M SIM cards from wherever SIM , Büttner relies on a single M2M solution that enables its security systems to connect to multiple networks throughout Germany and Europe. If a mobile network fails, a system can simply connect to the next network thanks to the SIM. This keeps the connection stable and minimizes the risk of a dropped connection.
The network to which the device connects depends solely on the available network strength. The M2M SIM cards from wherever SIM do not favor any particular network operator. Unlike the M2M SIM cards from network operators, they do not tell an end device which network it has to connect to.
"Since the switch from ISDN to IP, it has become even more important that we have a functioning mobile connection. In the event of a power failure, the Internet router is no longer supplied with power and the primary connection path is interrupted. In this case, the mobile network must be available as a backup, otherwise we lose the connection to the system. By using wherever SIM , we have virtually eliminated this risk."
Another advantage for Büttner: the clear online portal. "Another advantage of wherever SIM is the customer portal. We can see the SIM cards we use at a glance and can easily evaluate all the data. This significantly reduces the administrative workload once again."
