Full halls, intensive discussions and plenty of inspiration: this year's SIDO in Lyon once again showed how rapidly IoT and robotics solutions are developing. It was the ideal platform for us to pick up on trends and deepen our dialog with the market.

Hot topics in Lyon: SGP.32 moves the market
In the discussions and presentations at SIDO, it became clear which developments are currently gaining particular momentum. Smart agriculture is no longer a vision of the future, but a tangible growth industry. For example, agriculture is increasingly relying on networked technologies to use resources more efficiently and automate processes. In general, the focus is on the environment: sensor technology for climate and environmental data is experiencing a noticeable upswing, driven by sustainability goals and regulatory requirements. At the same time, drone applications are coming to the fore, opening up completely new business models in areas such as inspections, logistics and monitoring, as well as applications for optimizing production processes and workflows.
SGP.32 was discussed particularly intensively. The new eUICC IoT standard is considered a milestone for the industry because it makes IoT projects significantly more flexible and future-proof. It enables the seamless management of eSIM profiles across the entire life cycle, reduces integration costs and facilitates the global rollout of networked devices. For companies, this means less dependence on individual providers, faster time-to-market and significantly better scalability of international deployments.
"France is currently one of the most dynamic growth markets for IoT and M2M applications. The introduction of the new eUICC IoT standard SGP.32 in particular is being followed with great interest by our customers here," says Léo Guiziou, Senior Sales Manager France at WhereverSIM. "We are working intensively on a suitable solution for this, as a well thought-out concept that is sustainable in the long term and can be used in practice."
IoT as a growth driver in key industries
SIDO has shown once again: IoT and M2M are the driving forces behind innovations in a wide range of sectors - from agriculture to industry. For us, the trade fair was a valuable source of inspiration and confirmation that our solutions optimally address the current requirements of the market.
