wherever SIM - IoT from Hamburg

We offer you the opportunity to get started in one of the industries of the future. With our solution, we enable a simple but professional internet connection for a wide range of IoT devices - from smart washing machines to connected cars.

Since our founding in 2015, we have been on a healthy growth path and have convinced customers such as Rossmann, MOIA and Engelbert Strauss.

Your mission

We believe that the future is connected - and we ensure that devices around the globe can communicate with each other. With our M2M SIM cards, we create solutions that really help companies move forward: whether in the field of e-mobility, renewable energies or smart cities. We use the latest technologies to offer customized connectivity for complex B2B challenges.

Our data team lays the foundation for data management and analysis to continuously improve our IoT solutions. Our modern cloud infrastructure ensures that both our enterprise customers and internal teams always have access to high-quality and accurate data. Now we are looking for you - a dedicated and experienced Data Engineer who specializes in testing, implementing and optimizing ELT processes to make our data pipelines efficient and future-proof.

Your role:

Do you love implementing data-driven processes in a growing company and thus delivering important added value? Then exciting challenges await you at wherever SIM :

  • Your infrastructure: You will monitor and maintain our existing data infrastructure and ensure that all data is available reliably and in high quality for both internal and external stakeholders.
  • Your data pipelines: You develop and optimize ELT pipelines with tools such as Apache Airflow, PySpark and AWS services. You will efficiently integrate data from various source systems into our infrastructure and make it available to different systems, such as billing and our customer portal.
  • Your collaboration: You will work closely with the DevOps team, our Data Scientist and the various specialist departments, including the Finance team, to provide data and create the basis for data-driven decisions.
  • Your monitoring: You ensure data quality, implement monitoring solutions and optimize processes to guarantee the integrity of our data streams.

What you bring with you

  • Experience: Completed studies in computer science, mathematics or a comparable qualification, such as an apprenticeship in the IT sector with subsequent relevant professional experience. At least 2-3 years of experience in data engineering, especially in the area of ELT/ETL processes.
  • Technology expertise: Sound knowledge of Python as well as (initial) experience with Apache Airflow, PySpark and SQL and NoSQL databases (e.g. Snowflake, Redshift). You have experience in the automation and orchestration of data pipelines. Experience with data modeling techniques in a data warehouse context, such as the Star or Snowflake schema or Data Vault 2.0, would be a valuable addition.
  • Nice-to-have: Initial experience as a data architect and in the cloud (ideally AWS), as well as knowledge in the optimization and scaling of data infrastructures. Experience with Terraform is an advantage.
  • Analytical thinking: You recognize challenges quickly and come up with creative, pragmatic solutions. You act independently and focus on achieving sustainable and measurable improvements.
  • Curiosity and enjoy new topics: You have a strong interest in new technologies and enjoy working with data analysis. You like to think outside the box to find innovative solutions and gain deeper insights from the data.

  • 🧠 We invest directly in your skills: training and development with us is not a one-size-fits-all process, but always in close consultation with you and your (life) plans.

  • 🤝 Teamwork makes the dream work: We can always rely on each other - whether it's joint projects or achieving our corporate goals - nothing works for us without a team. Always there: an open culture of error - mistakes are part of the job and offer us opportunities.
  • 😊 These goodies are a matter of course for us: high-quality technical and ergonomic equipment - both in the office and for your mobile work, corporate benefits, regional fruit and vegetables from our organic farmer as well as water, tea and the most delicious coffee.
