The Industrial M2M SIM is a special M2M SIM card that is more resistant than standard SIMs and has therefore been developed for demanding application scenarios with extreme conditions.

In general, the different SIM cards are divided into mini, micro and nano formats. There is also the eSIM or embedded SIM, which is a chip that is soldered directly into a modem. These SIM formats are also available as "Industrial SIM". This is a more robust version of a normal SIM card.

An industrial SIM basically works in the same way as a normal M2M SIM card. However, it is designed for use in extreme environmental conditions.

A normal M2M SIM card is only recommended for use in a temperature range of -25°C to +85°C, for example. An industrial M2M SIM, on the other hand, can be used at temperatures from -40°C to +105°C.
